Cos’è il Present Perfect Continuous?
Present Perfect Continuous… riflettiamo un po’
Il Present Perfect ci riporta alla costruzione “have/has + been”, il continuous invece aggiunge la forma base in -ing.
Ottimi indizi per iniziare la lezione.

Questa volta usiamo due ausiliari:
A) “to have”
B) “to be” al participio passato perché dopo “to have” bisogna mettere il verbo al participio passato

Costruzione Present Perfect Continuous
Costruzione Present Perfect Continuous, Forma Affermativa:
Sogg. + Have Been/Has Been + V1-ing
Ricorda che l’ausiliare principale è il verbo “to have”, quindi prendi in considerazione solo lui quando fai la forma negativa.
Costruzione Present Perfect Continuous, Forma Negativa:
Sogg. + Have not Been/Has Not Been + V1-ing
Costruzione Present Perfect Continuous, Forma Interrogativa:
Have/has + Sogg. + Been + V1-ing

Quando usare il Present Perfect Continuous?
Per enfatizzare meglio la durata o il il corso di un’azione.
Per far capire che un’azione si è protratta nel tempo.
Frasi con il Present Perfect Continuous:
She has been writing for two hours.
Ti ha scritto per due ore.
I’m bored. It has been raining for hours.
Sono stufo. Sono ore che sta piovendo.
Azioni finite che influenzano il presente
Si usa spesso quando ci sono parole come “all day”, “all week”, “the whole day”, “the whole year”, “the whole week”, ecc.
Frasi con il Present Perfect Continuous:
I’m tired because I’ve been working the whole day.
Sono stanco perché ho lavorato tutto il giorno.
Nonostante possa aver finito di lavorare, è ancora stanco perché l’azione passata di aver lavorato influenza il presente.
My neighbour’s children have been arguing all night.
I figli dei miei vicini hanno litigato tutta la notte.
Nonostante hanno finito di litigare, le loro azioni stanno ancora influenzando il mio presente perché magari non ho dormito.
Azioni che si sono concluse recentemente o che continuano ancora nel presente
Si usa spesso quando ci sono parole come “since” o “for” come nel past perfect.
Frasi con il Present Perfect Continuous:
I have been living here since 2000.
Ho vissuto qua dal 2000.
I’ve been studying english for 6 years.
Ho studiato l’inglese per 6 anni.
Ho studiato l’inglese per 6 anni

Quando una frase comincia con “how long…” generalmente si usa il Present Perfect Continuous.

Quanto tempo hai lavorato in Australia?

Quanto tempo hai aspettato?
Wow, you’re in great shape. How long have you been training for?
Wow, sei in grandissima forma. Da quanto tempo ti stai allenando?

A volte, il Present Perfect ed il Present Perfect Continuous si possono intercambiare
